Take part in a City wide performance as we Sing for Hull

Welcome to Sing for Hull

We have created this project for all of our schools, families, workplaces and communities to come together once a week to all sing a song at the same time – together.

We’ve created a virtual band – The Albemarle Broadband for you to sing along with.

Over the next four days there is a different daily activity that helps you prepare for the performance at 13:30 on Friday.

So, in these challenging times, let’s celebrate all that is good about Hull, and “Sing for Hull!”

Week 9: Aint No Mountain

Resources

Day 1

Vocal warm-ups and learn the song!

Join Stephanie and Sean Miller as they take you through some fun warm ups, vocal health tips and teach you the song!

Day 2

Make and Create – Home Percussion

This week’s guest is percussion teacher Simon Higley, who shows us how we can make our own percussion instruments from household things. Given that the palm cockatoo from Australia can make his own drumsticks to play simple rhythms (and impress the ladies), we should find getting creative with household objects a simple task so that we can join in with this week’s hit ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ live on Friday.

Day 3

Performance Tips.

Stephanie Miller introduces today’s episode working on ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’.
Having introduced the song in Monday’s episode, Stephanie tells us about the hit and its many versions.
Join Stephanie to get your body and voice warmed up before working on developing your singing to get you ready for Friday’s premiere.

Day 4

Instrument of the week – French Horn

James Dickinson, Dan Edwards (and Charlie the Chimp – of course!) & legendary French Horn player Garry Oglesby introduce this week’s episode.
